Healthy Kids NOW

He was giving up on life, not suicidal, no, not that. In his eyes he was obese and the reason for that was because he moved to Georgia. At that time he had no friends, no nothing. He felt different and this led depression. So, he gained weight. Days became smashed into constant stream of boredom on the edge of tears. He had to pretend all the time, smile so that no one would notice, laugh off insecurities. He remembers that at one point he just got tired. Just like any other person he had lots of interests but he couldn't do most of them because he was fat. So, one day he told his mum, "I need help. Let's go to paediatrician." 

All this leads to the following: We all know that eating balanced food is the key point of healthy life. But do we know how to eat healthy? Do we know what a balanced diet is? And if we know all of that do we actually follow the rules of correct food choices? For the most students in our school the answer is NOPE, which is really bad. So how do we change that into YASSS?

   First, we have to answer these couple of easiest questions to accomplish the understanding of healthiness and to follow the rules of natural products. Here we go:


   1. What in the name of all mighty is good for our bodies?

A simple answer to that ridiculous question is: 
(Meat + Veggies= Good), (Veggies + Bread = Good), (Meat + Bread = Nein)
That's what many people told me over the course of my life and also in my last interview with Mariam Trchunian. And I sure hope that we all know what Meat, Veggies and Bread are :)
   2. Freshly cooked cheese broccoli soup or pizza from Ronny's?
Obviously the answer is the pizza from Ronny's. Who doesn't love pizza from Ronny's? No, I'm kidding. It is NOT pizza from Ronny's. Sorry, pizza from Ronny's. Cheese broccoli soup is delicious and is much healthier than pizza. It has cheese and broccoli. Cheese is an excellent non-meat source for protein and it also contains natural fat that is god for your body. And we must not forget that cheese is high in calcium and this is great for your teeth and bones. What else must there be in a good soup? Ah, yes, carrots. 
   3. How do we eat healthy at school?
WE BALANCE OUR FOOD. Meaning that we do not take only pasta and meat, we take pasta, meat AND veggies. Any kind. Be it a salad or just handful of carrots lying next to couple of olives. Our school offers healthy options every single day. Nobody is going to force you to eat healthy. It is a choice that you have to make all by yourself! Wake up!
   4. But what if I bring my own food?
Very well then, good for you. If your mum is packing the lunch box for you then you are safe, buddy. Your mum knows better than to give you pizza for lunch. But if you pack your lunch box by yourself, oh god.... Basically, same rules apply to you too. Don't forget about the veggies, they are really important. 
   5. Should I Google healthy ways of eating?
Totally. That's what I did. But I also talked to bunch of people that create our school menu. 

Now let's talk how our school's cafeteria has changed. We all have noticed that, right? "The food choices felt like they weren't for everyone. Plus, they were all khachapuri and steak meat, which is bad" said Mrs. Blaho. Indeed, I remember my first year in this school about 3 years ago they still served pizza and fries for lunch. 


The cafeteria becomes healthier with each passing year. In the future Mrs. Blaho has promised that the food and recipes will come from parents. You wonder how we will get new recipes from parents? Well, we will sent them emails with questions, and post many posts on Facebook where your parents can add their verified recipes. Maybe you have noticed the addition of softer glazed cinnamon rolls and broccoli cheese soup.


The anonymous student explained that healthy lifestyle consists of everything: balanced diet, exercises, enough sleep, and positive thinking. Eating habits are the most important factor of how to lose weight. That does not mean you cannot eat bread, or cake, or other stuff that you like. In fact you can, but with moderation. You have to include all the components of the food pyramid. Healthy eating with help of exercising will going to improve your weight lose. Be healthy. Now that student feels amazing, super and fantastic. Obviously sill some trauma left because after a long time of hating yourself, wanting to disappear from this world and being disgusted by yourself, it is very hard to change, to love yourself. It is going to take time, but he is working on it.
