Trick or Treat

“I loved the idea of putting someone on the trapeze” Taisia
The students had only three days to prepare. Whenever they found free time, the haunted house team ran around the school searching for supplies, and transformed our stage into a dysfunctional asylum…
Which included escaped prisoners, catatonic grandmas, faulty operations, spiders, and body bags hanging from the ceiling…

“The creative thing is that it wasn’t the same every time, there was something different in every section. You’re going around the corridor, there was the first time you get scared, and then there wasn’t anything, and then out of nowhere something jumps out at you…” Mr. Bryan

The stage was divided into hallways and rooms using walls from past plays and long drapes. The walls were painted and decorated using fake spiders and webs: “I loved dipping my hand in red paint and smudging it all over the walls, felt like I was making a weird Jackson Pollock painting” Nana
“Apart from breaking my toe, making the body bags was really fun… now I know how to tie people up for the future Fallon. Well, we’ll be staying away from Fallon.
With a time limit and a line extending out of the gym, the team involved managed to let everyone get a taste of the asylum, parents and teachers included, adjusting the level of “scariness” for when kindergartners insisted on entering.

Though we all woke up with sore throats, strange scratches and bruises, Friday October 30th was definitely a memorable and fun experience.
What does Student Council have planned next?
