After a tiring but fun week of designing our doors, we finally got a winner!
Secondary Four celebrated last period with the chocolate cake they received as a prize. Their idea for the door was "The Polar Express". They taped up a white mountain made out of crumpled paper and stapled on a train with a students face on each cart. The moon was everyones favorite, painted on white paper and decorated with Santa and his sleigh. The students' names were hole punched onto the "Polar Express" tickets. Delicate and created in just three days, the seniors did an amazing job on their door "truly a work of art" (Nana).
The second place was given to the French class' "Paris" door. Their door was decorated with a cut out of the Eiffel Tower, the balconies were populated with little people, and there was a "mini city" at the bottom. The class received a bag of chocolates as a prize.
The Journalism Squads personal favorite was the Mrs. Hostetter's Harry Potter themed door. With a lot of carefully thought out details, this door was breathtaking for all of the Harry Potter fans.
A drawing of Professor Flitwick, the Hogwarts crest, the floating candles, the cornish pixies, the beautifully decorated christmas tree coming out of a cauldron, with chocolate frogs and Bertie Bott's every flavoured beans, puking pastilles and so much more...
The door didn't win a place but it deserves recognition for all of the Harry Potter details, good job 12s!
